Sounds of Music was set up by Mark Lake as a music tuition studio in Bognor to bring together all the tuition that was taking place in the Essex Road studio under one banner. The original ukulele groups for beginners began in 2018 building on the ‘Making Your Mark’ outreach project of the Southdowns Music Festival and has steadily grown over the past four years. There are now five classes of varying abilities, aiming to get the most out of the ukulele, in particular learning different rhythmic strumming & finger styles, as well as playing riffs and melodies to add something to the songs we play.
