Robb Johnson & The Irregulars
Sun 25th Sept | 4pm | RAFA Club

Robb is widely recognised as one of the UK’s finest songwriters ~

“An English original”, (Robin Denselow, the Guardian)
“one of our best singer-songwriters ever” (Mike Harding)
“one of this country’s most important songwriters (no argument!)” (fROOTS).

The Irregulars are an informal band of fine musicians featured on Robb’s recordings and at gigs whenever space and budget allow. The Irregulars at South Downs Festival will be Sian Allen on trumpet & guitar, John Forrester on bass, Linze Maesterosa on saxophone, & Fae Simon on vocals & percussion.
Duo John & Linze are appearing in their own right at the Festival; John’s a consummate songwriter, and has worked as a bass player in folk bands like Pressgang, & the Outcast Band, and also in the New Model Army offshoot Nozzle. Linze provides saxophone magic in a variety of bands, equally at home with FTJ, The Detonators, the Marching SKAletons. Sian has a background in theatre, is a resident at Walthamstow folk club, and sings the part of Robb’s mum in his highly acclaimed song suite Ordinary Giants. Fae also sings in Ordinary Giants, is a hip-hop, soul and dub songwriter and singer, and provides the magic on a variety of very successful House tracks.
