Sunday 25th September

Monkey See Monkey Do met in Southampton's bustling folk scene, where Aaron and Sam grew up and Helen and Matt didn't. After many well-spent evenings at folk sessions in Hampshire pubs, the current line-up came together in the summer of 2015. Combining vocals with fiddle, guitar, bodhràn, clarinet and the occasional squeeze of melodeon, Monkey See Monkey Do take traditional and modern material and make it their own, coining the term ‘folk-ish’ to describe their upbeat sound. In the summer of 2020, the band released their debut album The Night Out, to critical acclaim. Described as “thoroughly enjoyable” (Songlines) and “a genuine delight” (FATEA), Monkey See Monkey Do have gone on to perform their high-energy set at venues and festivals all across the South of England.
